Nestled in the heart of Vancouver, Kitsilano is a neighborhood known for its walkability and cycling-friendly nature. With a robust public transit system and a variety of businesses within close proximity, residents can easily access everything they need. The area boasts an array of schools, daycares, grocery stores, restaurants, and clothing stores, all within walking distance. Kitsilano's diverse character and numerous public green spaces make it an appealing place to live for a wide range of individuals. The housing stock, with a mix of older and newer buildings, offers a variety of options for potential residents, from small apartment buildings to duplexes.

Kitsilano has a character that caters to a fairly diverse group of people. Kitsilano is quiet overall, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic. It is very easy to access public green spaces in the neighbourhood since there are about 20 of them nearby for residents to check out. Finally, this part of Vancouver has numerous places for those looking for a dynamic vibe. Although the nightlife is quiet, there are crowds of people around most of the time.

Around 30% of homes in Kitsilano were constructed pre-1960, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s. In this area, about two thirds of dwellings are small apartment buildings, and the rest are mainly duplexes. Renters occupy roughly 60% of the dwellings in Kitsilano and 40% are occupied by owners. This part of Vancouver is primarily composed of two bedroom and one bedroom homes.

It is usually possible for home buyers in Kitsilano to buy general and specialty groceries by walking. Likewise, there are a good number of options for those who care about nearby restaurants and cafes. In terms of education, it is a short walk to access schools and daycares from most homes for sale in this area. Besides public schools, there are private primary and secondary schools.

Kitsilano is a very good neighbourhood when it comes to travelling without driving. Physically active people will welcome the especially pedestrian-friendly nature of this area; all daily needs can be carried out by walking, and many businesses are quite nearby. Cycling is very prevalent in Kitsilano as the cycling network is fairly good, and bike-share stations are hardly ever more than a few blocks away. Kitsilano is transit friendly thanks to about 10 nearby bus lines. In contrast, Kitsilano is not an especially good part of Vancouver for travelling by car as it is challenging to find a place to park.
